The mission of Groupement des assureurs automobiles (GAA) is to ensure access to automobile insurance, facilitate the settlement of claims, and support the evolution of automobile insurance in Québec, for the benefit of consumers.    

GAA was created in 1978 when Quebec reformed the automobile insurance plan. At the time, the government asked automobile insurers to develop various mechanisms to improve coverage for property damage under the plan.
