Record volume of consultations by insurers

In 2021, insurer and broker consultations on the Fichier central des sinistres automobiles (FCSA) peaked. However, there was a 5% drop in policyholder visits after a record year in 2020. Over a five-year period, there has been a significant surge in visits, indicating that more consumers shop around for auto insurance.
Remember that the FCSA can be consulted when an auto insurance policy is issued or renewed. This tool allows insurers to know their policyholders’ driving experience, an important criterion for evaluating auto insurance premiums according to the true risk each policyholder represents, thereby promoting greater equity.
